i decided to use my 1934 port for my external hard drive instead of usb 2.0. windows xp does not even register that there is a device plugged in. i have windows service packs 1-3. can anyone fix my problem?
i have a port on the front and rear and tried both. i have not looked to see that they are connected though. also, my external hd has a light on it that indicates when it is connected. it is off when plugged into the firewire port.
