Firmware update

I would like to know how to update my modem firmware, and what happen if i do, do i have to configurate it all back?

I have a D-link 500G generation 2 and a wireless router

You can normally just go to your routers admin page on your web browser (default is 192.168.0.1) and theres a firmware update area.

Be careful though, I forgot which d-link model it is but there's one model that seems to break when upgrading the firmware. This could be fixed by now though.

If it's like any other Dlink device, there's an upgrade option within the config menu. The new firmware, if avalaible, should be downloadable from Dlink's website. The upgrade page has a browse option; just find the downloaded file and tell it to upgrade.

And yes, you will have to reconfigure it again. Some devices offer backup options so you may backup your settings. I have no clue if the modem offers this...
