Macs run a very powerful processor and contrary to popular belief they were the first home computer to sport a 64-bit processor
Hmmm ... on a sheer technical level ... does "64-bit" include the PentiumII? I dont follow Macs but im sure the Pentium2 preceeded the G5 :P

PentiumII being 64-bit is a bit of a stretch but if we're going to get into this discussion we should probably move to CPUs and stop hijacking this thread :D

1. Split
2. PentiumIIs did featurea 64bit internal datapath :P 64bit externals only came recentl with the G5/A64s

still, trying to pass a PentiumII as 64-bit because of that is like some analogy I can't think of...and it wasn't exactly put to use

well the amd k6-2+ was higher performance than pentium 2 and a generation 6 processor, so i guess tha's 64 bit too? ...ok wtf am i talking about

Is there a reason you're copy-pasting word for word what im saying?

Im not sure what you're talking about to be honest. I do know what *I'm* talking about (and hence i could partially make an argument in favor of the Pentium2). As for the internal addressing size of the K6 series processors, it would seem logical that they are 64bit as well but i dunno of the top of my head
