Power Supply
---

  • Priced competitively within other 80 PLUS GOLD PSUs toward the 850W mark. Using a calculator online determining all the parts I could possibly need, I came to around that 850 mark. But, I would be using full load at that point.

  • I plan to SLI in the future. Or at least, I want that door open to me. Two of the card I listed.

  • Avoiding maximum usage/high loads toward 90%+, to avoid capacitor strain thus reducing noise and prolonging life.

  • Fully modular.

  • Only draws as much power as it needs, and is 80 PLUS Silver. Should not increase power bill VS an 850W or lower. (I'm under the assumption that -more parts- increases the PSU's power usage, not just the PSU itself alone.)
---

Thoughts? Thanks in advance. Constructive criticism is appreciated. Looking to get this thing finished and ordered soon, as I'm beginning to desperately need it for school. (NOT just a school computer, though. Gaming too.)

what is this for?

pre overclocked and better brand but may be a little louder, not sure how quiet blowers are or the asus fan

7970GHZ is a bit faster

There is no point in a mobo that expensive unless it was lga2011 and a i7-3930k 6 core 12 thread. Also i'd go for a gigabyte over ASUS.

I dont think cas9 is worth the price difference from this

1866 cas 10 might be a better choice, not sure how the performance will differ, you prob wont notice any difference

this is a more reliable brand and still way more than you need, a 650w should rin that system

I've updated my original post with new parts, and parts that have been swapped out by recommendation by other users. If anyone could give it another look over, that would be greatly appreciated!

Errm i dont see any after market coolers.. So may i suggest hyper 212 Cause i dont think u want to use those bad intel stock fans and thermal paste they provide u... It will only set u back 20or 30 $ or u can grab better cpu coolers of ur choice but if ur not planning to oc that much get hyper its bang for ur bucks...

I've added some fans to cool the setup, thanks to your suggestions.

Please respond:

1) Will the chosen PSU be able to handle this setup with an ample amount of overclocking headroom, is there a way to calculate headroom,

2) Have I missed anything?
