Total cost is=$774.67 is this good someone help.
Im going to use this for gaming and internet use. Not Extreme SLI gaming that i have to have maxed setting with 100 + fps. I just wanna run some games high settings with a nice fps smooth fps that doesnt drop to 20 during firefights.
My current rig is
Pentium 4 2.8
768 ram ddr
nvidia 5500 128 mb PCI! (yes i only have a pci mobo right now lol.
My current runs hl2 decently but its in directx 8 mode and alot of stuff is off. It runs fine but in games with 30 + people fps drops alot. I also wanna buy Battle field 2 but it looks like comp and fps drops in vechiles. Any recommendations?

Also how is this rig compared to my current? Is it worth the upgrade and how long do you think it would last before it cant play games on medium-low settings without decent framerates?

well its not that its better exactly its more that its better quality for the money. im not sure but it might be better.

well i looked at one that was $194 by BFG tech and it wasnt better at all. only had 128 mb and the speeds werent much faster. Also the memory type was 128 BIT. I dont think that would last very long for the newer games.

looks like a pretty good budget pc but u might wanna consider the 6600gt its the best card for the money.
The connect3d X800 GTO has a 256bit bus compared to the 128bit of the 6600GT, and it has 12pipelines and can have 4 extra unlocked to 16 total pipelines. I say the X800GTO by connect3d is one of the best deals out there right now. Just make sure to get the connect3d model

The memory you have is okay, but it has 3-4-4-8 timings, which is pretty slow for DDR 400 ram. If you buy the Corsair Value Select memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145440
The timings are faster @ 2-2-2-5 (i think). just make sure to get the Cas latency 2.5 and not the Cas latency 3. Corsair is a reputable brand and (in fact) is cheaper!
If you wanted, for $15 more you could get a DVD+-RW burner (I don't know what types of things you burn). It's easier to back up files with a 9 GB dual layer DVD instead of a 750-800MB cd.
The antec smartpower psu is probably better than your sunbeam one, though it is 10 more:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103935
make sure to get a SATA cable for your OEM drive...
If I think of anything else I'll post.

yea, I think it's cool to, but (supposing you haven't read the reviews, which you probably have) they say it's loud (not the best thing) and is big (nice for installing/upgrading, not nice for putting on your desk). You could go cheaper, like these that I've considered myself. Just to let you know, 120mm fans generally make a computer much quieter and cooler.
this one comes in different colors:

slightly different model of above, also comes in different colors:

hope this helps!! Of course there's many others, but these are the ones I've looked at and have liked.

A nvidia 6800 just came out today its only $200 and is almost as powerfull as a 6800GT which is very good. Heres the link i think this is better than the Radeon x800

Note that its has shader model 3.0, where the radeon doesnt. This means you can have HDR in games that support like HL2. This will be the better card in the long run. Also i think that eVGA is a better company. The downside is that it only has open GL 1.5.
