So i'm building my first desktop and have decided to go with an AMD build. I've chosen the FX 6100 it is a budget build with about 100$ per part. i'm just looking to get some advice on some parts. i have some picked out

CPU - AMD FX 6100
MoBo - Asus M5A99x EVO AMD 990X
GPU - EVGA gtx 650 ti (already purchased)
Case - NZXT Phantom 410
Memory - G. Skill Sniper 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 (Just Purchased for 37$)
Hard Drive - seagate barracuda 7200 rpm 64MB cache 2TB

Im still looking for a power supply for it all just wondering what people think.

Just picked out this PSU for now

PSU - Antec TP-750 blue 750W

Pretty sure this R2.0 means it comes with the revised bios for FX Vishera . ATM it actually save a couple bucks as well. I think if you get a board w/o the proper bios for FX 6300, you won't be able to boot to flash it. Check into it.

I'm not a fan of hdd's larger than 1TB for C:/ and that much data. Consider WD Black FAEX, Samsung F3, or Barracuda MOO3. 1 or 2 of those might have 32mb cashe vs 64 but hdd speed isn't all about that diff and 3.0 will be as fast as 6.0 since hdd's can't transfer as fast as 3.0 anywho.

If you're going to add another 650 later on, 750w wouldn't be as much overkill. Always running a single powerful enough card is better than running 2. Your decision on crossfire might help you decide on wattage. For $106 the TPN isn't what I would choose.

change the fx6100 to fx6300.
Take a 500 watt from corsair/OCZ.
With the money you spared from getting a cheaper psu, go for an hd7850 (1gb or 2, both will be faster).
If you got some money more to spend on your build, you can get a FX8320.
Also, ripsjaw series are a bit cheaper and are as good as the sniper series. You could go with that.

@ $10 more Seasonic 520w is a much better choice than CX or anything that has OCZ on it.

The TS picked a crossfire mb so depends on if they want that capability. If they go with a 970 chipset/single gpu setup and save a bit on the hdd they would have enough to get a high quality ps, bigger gpu, and 1866 or higher memory.

GSkill 2x4GB 1600 doesn't get much cheaper than what they chose.

Corsair and ocz are quality brands, and 500W can hold any card with limit the hd7950/gtx670.
He should take a 970 chipset, a 500W, hd7850 and a fx8320. And an cm 212+ as cooler.

Update

Ive bought the Memory, GPU and the woman got me the case

Wanted to see is anyone had any opinions on this PSU

I made a mistake when i purchased the GPU the 650 is not SLI compatible so i kinda screwed myself on that one so im not worried about a bigger PSU

There's better ps's in that price range.
OK. No sli. Are you staying with a mb built for sli?
How much dough you got to finish up the build :)

my original plan was future proofing but i messed that up with the GPU but i can always switch to crossfire with this mb. as for the budget im just kind of accumulating parts as i get the money probably about 500 remaining im either getting the CPU or MB from the woman too.

Not able to predict what future cf/sli vc's for ps needs.
750w is prolly a good number. Such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207023
Or for now this modular version of the one I already listed. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151093

Most will agree that single gpu saves possible headaches getting the 2 to play nice together, and still enough graphics horsepower and saves on ps and could save on mb.
With your budget, if you go single gpu route, even if its with the gpu you have till you upgrade it, you could get an ssd in there.

If your going for gaming performance, is the 650 returnable?

That mb was my original choice i changed for SLI and CF but i do like the GPU you have listed its much better than the 650 ti i might have to go return it and get that one instead and i have decided to go with the PSU you recommended

Go at least for an hd6870. The gtx650ti is pretty much overpriced for it's performance. I would recommend to go for and hd7850 though. (1gb vram is enough and cheaper)

im going to try and bring back the 650 ti tomorrow hopefully microcenter will let me i got it the box was kinda beat up but well see

Don't buy an overclocked one, they're a waste of money as you can usually overclock them yourself and the factory overclocked ones are only overclocked by about 10MHz or so usually. Not worth the extra cost!
