First build and have a problem

I just assembled my first computer. I was really excited when the computer powered on and i saw the Gigabyte screen. However it get to a screen that lists IRQ's. Then it tries to boot my Vista Ultimate software and it just sits there and does nothing. I can hear the DVD spinning however it sounds like it revs up and down every 10 seconds or so. Do you think i have a bad drive or am I missing something??

Here is my computer https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=10237131

**Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz

I just put in a old ide Dell drive I had and it is now installing Vista. So I am guessing it must be the drive.

Ok, so I have got windows installed now. Just one more question I think. On all the other computers I have owned when they start up they come up with a screen that tells you the video card and ram and so on. On the one i just built it always goes to a Gigabyte screen that has the options of going into the BIOS and POST, things like that. Then it goes to a screen that has a bunch of IRQ's, then goes to the typical windows loading screen. Is there something I am supposed to do or is that going to be my startup everytime?

That will be in the BIOS setup. You can enable quick start to skip some of the startup displays and disable full screen logo to skip that display.
