First build and hoping it will last a couple years

first time post.. looking at a gaming rig for around $2500.. this is what im thinking of building..

You would need some space for the games... small HDD

Win7 Home will be just fine. You will most likely never use the features ultimate has over home.

I would go with some more Vram if you truly want a killer computer, that is unless you are planning on putting two 580s in.

I will never stop talking about these gigabyte cards. I have a 570 like this and it is absolutely silent and so very cool. (Temp and styling-wise.)

He has 360GB with those two SSDs in RAID. If that's enough room for you, then you're good. Can always add another hard drive later, especially when the prices go down.
 
ya. i plan on building in about 2 months so im hoping i will have a 2 tb wd black by the time i build this for data..
i do plan on trying the 580 in sli but im waiting for a price drop before i do..
 
the 3gb would only really benefit if you were maxing out the aa or af, one of those uses a crap load of vram, otherwise if you were using 2/3 monitors it would help a lot. but for the money why not grab a liquid cooling system for cooling. and why that case, white will require constant wiping and cleaning unless you want it to look like crap, and for a white case you want the corsair 600t white
