first build, critiques apprec. (gaming)

sooper noob here.. so any critique would be much appreciated..

basic needs:

budget: ~$1000 +/- 200

-run sc2 on maxed settings, multiplayer(6-8), max resolution without lag..
-play other games like fallout 3/new vegas no prob. max settings
-maybe get back into FPS, the newer generation ones.
-last me a few years
-be easily upgradable

willing to learn to OC, want to do it on AIR only..

-no monitor needed yet, have a 20" flat for now and saving up for hdtv to put in my room just to hook up to my comp for gaming (50+ inch)

about $ 1073 so far.. plus some additional fans to fill up the case slots

Will these parts have good harmony?

as u can see i dont d/l much stuff, so no TB HD needed,
and dvd rom can be recycled from old comp too..

what am i missing?
 
500 gig hdds are cheap...id spend a little and get one...

your missing a dvd drive, also do you have a monitor/keyboard/mouse?
 
yep here's the list i'm planning to recycle from old computer parts i have:
windows 7
monitor
usb mouse
usb keyboard
speakers
cd/dvd drives
 
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS @ $55 is a good buy

EA650 is $100, not worth. Get XFX P1-650X-CAH9 650W instead

Video card - I recommend 6870 instead due to power assumpion of GTX470
 
Well, I wouldn't use a HDTV for a monitor. Monitors have much, much better screen resolutions.

Also, If you want to spend a little less, grab an i7-870 or i7-875k- The motherboards are cheaper.

And About the case- If you want it, have at it. But I like the Cooler Master CM690 II because it is a very good case for the price.
 
so if I have all the above specs, but change to
-i7 870
-6870

1) will it all fit and be cool enough to OC in a mid tower case?
2) run all the games on max / decent settings for now and near future??
