If you are only running Intel graphic and no plan to upgrade, you only need about a 500 watt PSU. 600 watt for a single dedicated GPU. 850 is for CF/SLI.

Look for a Gigabyte board over Asus/ASRock

everything else looks good.

looks like your double listed there. lolz.

You can do better than a 550ti. A HD6850 is faster and about the same price. If you are gaming, get a 6870, or if you can squeeze it in the budget a 570/480. Both great cards for the price.

And Again, Gigabyte is much better than Asus.

Sorry. My tablet is being funky. Can't fix it ATM. Really? I thought asus was best but ok ill look at a different Mobo and different gpus. Price is not an issue.

I'm also gunna get a small sdd and 2 to 4 hdds

Yeah, I'd get anything other than a 550ti. You'd be limited by it. Like Wolfe said, go down to a 600-700w and use the savings for a better graphics card.

I've owned 3 ASUS boards, all have been good. Never had any issues with the boards themselves but I've never had to use customer support so I don't know what customer support is like. I'd say the Gigabyte Z77 boards are probably better than ASUS' Z77 boards anyway.

Definitely try to put more money into the graphics card. A 6870 or a 6950 would be a good option, or maybe a 560 Ti or a 570 like Wolfe said.

Id like to spend 200 or 300 on the mobo. Can you recommend one that is reliable and will let me do everything I want.

I love that board! But it is only good if you need it. The UD5H is the best without being over the top. You will need a different case for the sniper.

Really, you do not need to spend that much on a board. It is more about the feature set than the price. The UD5H is plenty for most people.

Even a GA-Z77X-UD3H would be fine. I'd get that unless you absolutely need the extra features of the UD5H. UD5H has dual-gigabit LAN and I think onboard Wi-Fi which the UD3H does not, but you can just get a cheap PCI wi-fi adapter if you need Wi-fi.

The WB, the more expensive one linked, is wifi. That is the only difference. A good adapter is ~20. The UD3H is fine, but its got a smaller power phase, 1 ethernet, and no wifi. Its good, but I would not get it if you can afford the UD5H.

Unless you're looking to overclock like crazy the UD3H will be fine. You should still be able to get a decent overclock out of the 3570K with a UD5H. One ethernet port is fine, very few people actually use two I reckon.

The UD5H is probably the better board though, so yeah if you can, get that, but if you're tight for money, the UD3H will be great.

The reason I'm willing to spend so much is cause I have never had my only desktop and I want my first to be epic. I did like that that $275 gigabyte could run SLI at x16/x16, tho I have read that most gpus only run at x8, is this true? Do you think I should throw that extra Mobo money into an i7?

Well if you get the Sniper board then you'd need a bigger case, one which supports E-ATX.

Most GPUs only run at 8x/8x in SLI or Crossfire yes, but that is a board limitation usually, not a graphics card limitation.

If you are gaming it will not help to have 16/16 or an i7. You will not see any bottleneck from 8/8 with is pretty normal for cards these days.

If you want it to be really epic, put the most you can into the graphics, pair it with a good UD3H or UD5H and 3570k, and you will be set.

^ This. The extra threads of the i7 don't make any difference for gaming. The 3570K is one of the best gaming chips out there right now, especially once it's overclocked.

I think you're wasting money by going with the Sniper. The UD5H is all you'd ever need and more. Even a UD3H would work great. You want to put as much money into the graphics card as possible for gaming really, CPU and motherboard should be next on the list of priorities.
