First Build, final Opinions! (1800$ budget)

Hey! After a few weeks of research I've put together a build that I'd love to get some opinions on! Here's a pick of the build and an explanation of why I chose the parts that I've chosen.

datorfn.png

CPU: i7 930 2.8GHz
I chose this because I wanted a good CPU with a new socket that I could easily do a soft OC on and as it had the same price as the 920 I thought why not? I know some people say that the 920 is better for OCing but as I'm not going for any heavy OCing I don't think that's really an issue for me.

Memory (RAM): Corsair XMS3 Twin3x DDR3 1600MHz/PC12800 CL0 3x2GB
I wanted 6Gb, nothing less, nothing more, and as the 1600Mhz Twin3X edition is cheaper than the 1333Mhz I chose this one. I asked people of the Twin3x meant it wasn't as good in some way but the general opinion was that there wasn't any noticeable difference.

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 32MB
Good reliable fast HDD with a rather low price and excellent space, what more can you ask?

Video Card: XFX Radeon HD5870 XXX 875Mhz
I looked at the regular 5870 first but as I found this one for the same price and because I heard it might have parts that are better than the regular one as it's overclocked I chose this one. I also chose it because I want to be able to play the newest games on top settings for at least a year to come.

PSU: Corsair 750TX 750W (80+)
A good reliable PSU that fit my needs and that'll last for at least a few years.

Case: Silverstone Raven 02
I love(!) this case! I love the looks and I love the design that makes it cool itself better than most of the cases on the market and I also think it's very price-effective.

Mobo (Moderboard): Gigabyte GA-X58-UD3R
As this has the same features as many mobos in higher priceranges I think it's a very price-effective product and also future-friendly with support for 6GB/s SATA and USB 3.0.

My budget is 14000SEK or about 1800$.

PS. I live in Sweden so if you want to suggest improvements please keep in mind that prices are much higher here than in the US and also remember that some parts aren't available here. To see if an item is available here you can go to http://www.Prisjakt.nu (Swedish pricerunner sorta) and search for the product there, if it shows up then I can purchase it! I would also prefer if you chose items on this site http://www.b-ray.se it's the cheapest online store in Sweden and that's where I'm probably going to buy my parts from.

Thanks in advance for the feedback! :)

Hello Wedes, I am also soon will be posting my build, so i can see some similarities between your build and mine.

CPU - good choice, i think for the price it is good value.
Hard Drive, i went for velociraptor, since i was told better for OS drive, since faster, but i suppose the cost is much more than the caviar one, but i think you can do fine with the caviar one (went on your website in Sweden prety expensive for this)
Mobo, same one as me, but when i was researching i found this other one Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard , some say it is cheaper but same specs as the Gigabyte one.
Case is really your choice, people can tell you what they like, but it may not be what you want so will not say anything about that. But just to say my opinion, i know you like it, but you could go a bit cheaper for same specs
GPU - you have chosen very expensive model, according to some people get the older model, becasue with the new ones there is very little difference, but price wise the difference is huge, (i went for Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express)

I think overall good choices, i think also you should not forget the cooler for the CPU, But overall good.

(i am a but confused isn't Sweden in EU, should't you have Euros)

hope help a bit

Hehe, yup Sweden is in EU but we said no to Euros, which is fortunate as it's kinda crashing atm x)

Acctually the P6T is more expensive than the Gigabyte one here at least, I had the P6T first in my build but people advised me to change to the Gigabyte one due to same features and lower price =P

correct about the euro, its a bit f****d up atm, UK here also not enjoying the Euro, xD, but Pound is not doing any better though, and economy wise its also in the whole.

That's a perfect build dude. Not sure if you really need 1TB, but go for it. Western Digital is the best of the best when it comes to Hard Drives. Beastly computer.

Hey, i am back, i posted my build and i got a few people telling me that the hard drive i chose is not worth the money, i went for this (this is link from one of your websites) http://www.b-ray.se/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=28_102&products_id=577,
its a velociraptor, and my friend told me to go for it or the SSD, but one of the guys who commented on my rig told me to go for this one
http://www.b-ray.se/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=28_102&products_id=1384
with budget like your you could probably afford a good drive for the OS, Games, and a large drive for the rest of your stuff.
hope this is a bit usefull

You don't know much what you say, do you? First of all it really isn't a "beastly" computer. It is a simple, effective and cheap build which is good. Second of all not all WDs are that good. Seagates are also good HDDs.

Add a bit more money for this RAM: http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=364996
and this mobo: http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=407427

Change from what you actually got to something more effective.

How about one of these 2 PC towers? More popular and better cooling;
1. http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=388764
2. http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=338242

Everything looks fine by the way. The following links are just what I'd go for.
