First Build Help

Hi I'm Dan just thought I would introduce myself and ask if anyone could help me out ?

I'm a 17 year old Trainee I.T Support Technician and I'm looking to build my first computer.

I know how to put it all together I just don't know what I need to get what I want from my build.

i have a budget of about £400 as i have already got my case and Hard drive. I want to use it for gaming and everything else. It doesn't have to be able to play all games on amazingly high settings I just want something that will play any game with no problems.

If anyone could come back to me with a list of recommend parts I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Dan

Well budget wise not great, but here is my set of parts, this is just a suggestion, you may want to look into the products in more detail but here it is, it is not great, but you will be able to play games, and things

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 LGA775 'Yorkfield' 2.5GHz (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-269-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=567)
Club 3D GeForce GTS 250 Green Edition 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-020-C3&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1402)
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR Intel P45 (Socket 775) DDR2 Motherboard (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-172-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1155)

That above is 294 Pounds
You will need ram, probably 4 GB, would cost you (look on ebuyer.com a bit more choice) would probably be around 50 pounds, try and go for the lower CL (like 4-4-4-? this would cost considerably more)

PSU - OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-037-OC&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=)

Thats just around 400 pounds, since you have the case and hard drive you ok for that. you might want to consider saving for a bit more and buying something like I5 or I7.

Ah also hope you have OS, since if not you will have to get that too.

Good Luck, hope my post helps a bit
