First Build (Need a final look over)

I got help building this build, so I'm just looking for some final opinions and some website links to any place where you think I can get these parts cheaper than at newegg. Also wondering about power supply (I've changed a few things since the original build plan, so I'm not sure if its enough or not)

My main reason for upgrading is that my current computer is staring to run slow for everything it does and as far as graphics and smoothness for games goes, they are not coming close to the highest settings. I use my com for gaming (mostly rpgs like fallout or dragon age), internet and downloading, and a bit of photo and video editing (flash, photoshop). At most I'll probably have 5 things running at a time (if I'm gaming, ill just have the game run alone).

Here's the build:

Agreed with the RAM. Has lower voltage. Since you are using photoshop and other programs, a 6-core processor from AMD will suit you. Are you thinking of adding another 580 and doing SLI? If not, 650w will be plenty of power. Great brand and unit for power supply, though.

Maybe a different case. Not the best cable management, and it is kind of skinny.

if you don't ever plan to use a second graphics card then get this psu, same exact thing with less watts and price, but still enough for a single 580

lol 3min too late. But the one I got was about the same price (shipping probably got cut down a bit when combined with the other stuff) and I got 50 more Watts.

Alright so all the parts are in (except dvd drive :(, stole the one from my old computer for now). Setup was fairly easy, but since it was my first time building something like this i was a little nervous.

Only three problem:

-when i tighten the graphics card to the case., it lifts out of the PCIE slot

-and the ps2 keyboard slot doesn't work in either bios or windows, but a USB keyboard will still work.

-cpu fan doesn't fully lock in place. On the loosest setting the clamp can only fit on on side. The fan still sticks pretty good tho. I've tried to remove it with a bit of force and it wouldn't budge.

Did you put the standoffs under the board in the right places?

Sure you didnt plug the mouse and keyboard backwards in the PS/2 ports?

If the lever is not locking in place, you dont have it on right. Do you have both openings completely under the notches on the CPU bracket.

The problem is that the cpu fan wont go far down enough to fit under the the notches. I can only get one in there. And the lever is completely open for maximum length.

As for the keyboard i'm pretty sure i didn't plug the purple connector into the green. :P

Fit the opening under the notch on the opposite side of the lever first. Then you should be able to pull the bracket over enough on the lever side to get the opening under the notch. Then just make sure the heatsink it lined up straight, then push the lever down.

Sometimes I have to take a flat head screwdriver and push down on the front clip in order for it go under the notch and then lock the lever in place. Doesn't take a lot of pressure either.

I'll try that.

BTW for any one who is curious. The com runs like a dream, I've tested it on dragon age 2 with the highest video settings (including the higher resolution pack) and it runs SO smooth. Thank you everyone for you help!
