Hi, i was hoping you'd reply to this...
Max i'd want to spend is £700

Max i can spend is £1000... but i'd rather spend £700 on just the hardware..
I do need an os, but I'm buying that seperately... just need to worry about the hardware...

I also noticed, i don't think that motherboard is HD?

Do you do any gaming?

Forgot to add that to the last post... Yeah, build will be intended for gaming, and a small amount of HD video editing, and my coursework for the next 2 years..

Needs to be good all rounder, but good for gaming

I only went with 4gb of ram,8gb is overkill really...you could always just get another 4gb at a later date if you want. :)

I thought it would be better (for now) to drop 4gb of ram and go for a better grahics card, then like i said at a later date you could always get yourself that additional 4gb of ram if needed.

Im off to bed now,But il check back in this post later :)

Okay thanks for the help, I might buy 2 of them (2x2GB) corsair RAM, to upgrade to 8GB RAM.. and downgrade to this GPU: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NVIDIA-GTX-55...TV_Cards_TW&hash=item3f08ff91ec#ht_1356wt_905

It's still a decent GPU, isn't it?
Only trouble is.. that PSU and CPU is sold out, and I was hoping to start the build Tuesday of next week..

At around £140, Ati 5850 is a better card

RAM - If you want 8 GB, you should get 2 x 4GB.

DVD burner - SATA with 24x is what you need!!! I don't think the motherboard have IDE

I'm in the middle of shopping for the rest, looking for some nice prices..

The reason of going for 2 x 4GB is that there is another 2 slot availiable for future upgrade. There is no problem for 4 x 2GB.

Lewis ive tidy up your thread.

The 550ti is still a good card,But id still consider the 5850 like Daisy mentioned OR a 6850.
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-...gddr5-gpu-820mhz-960-cores-plus-free-shogun-2

I never even noticed that DVD-RW you choose was IDE ,was tired....the one you have now choosen looks good!

Do you REALLY have to get windows 7 Ultimate?

You could just get Home premium OEM 64Bit and save yourself some money.

Thanks for tidying the thread up..
I transfered my savings yesterday, so will buy components at the start of next week.. Still not 100% sure on what Graphics Card to get...

And on the Windows 7 Ultimate point: I'm buying it from eBay, where windows Home premium OEM cost's £20 less... So to me, it isn't much of a price difference, and I want to see what it's like anyway, never had Ultimate before..

Id go for the 6850 i linked too,I think the 5850 is slightly faster but with newer games that make use of tesselation the 6850 might just pull ahead.

As for windows off Ebay,All i can say is be wary and make sure you dont get a pirated copy! :D

The 5850 is quite abit cheaper, although the performance comparison is quite similar.. Think I might go with the 5850, as I'm into oldschool MMORPG's, so I don't need a superior card anyway, just a good one.

And on the Windows topic... I'm very wary on eBay.. However eBay buyer protection has increased recently, and I know what to look out for.

Buying Components tonight, should have most by Tuesday, the rest by Saturday. Build should take place next weekend. Yay! :D:D

Also, thanks for your help Nevakonaza and daisymtc, wouldn't be able to build this without your help :):good:
