one sugestion would be to change your power supply to an antec trio power supply for about a 130$ more you could get an 8800 instead of a 7900 it will last you longer your choice though
 
why would that psu not be good enough? i have already ordered everything so cannot change really. when i get some more cash together i will get a better card than that. but this must be ok for now is it? will it run games ok?
 
that psu should be fina actuly my bad I though it was like my smart power whic didnt include many options but that card will run games fine just figured I'd throw out the option of the other one it all looks good though
 
Looks pretty good, that power supply should be enough for a 7900, but not for an 8800.

Why did you spend that much on Vista though??
 
Thanks Pies. ETSA the final cost came to 1500 Euro which is $1,977. [-0MEGA-] im not sure. I though that was the going rate, but this is Ireland which is a rip-off anyway. That is the home premium version though so its a bit more expensive anyway. How much would you expect to pay for it?
 
Well I understand the mark up but it seems pricey to me, if it seems alright to you thats what matters. I mean after shipping and monitor I think I payed about as much as you are for your rig as I did mine. But that is expected when shipping things over seas and what not. Oh well, don't let it discourage you and let us know how your build goes.

BTW a 500 watt psu should be fine for an 8800 GTS.
 
i just had a look at the prices of vista and i could have got an OEM version for half that price on the same site but i have heard that if i was to upgrade my mobo at any stage that i would have to buy another OEM version or retail version. The one i purchased is the retail version. maybe thats why it was so expensive? i dunno. I would have bought a lot of parts overseas but after shipping from seperate companys i wouldnt be saving anything really. Shipping for me on the site i purchased from was 35 Euro. Not too bad.
