CASE-Cooler Master HAF 912

HDD-Western Digital Caviar Black 750 7200RPM

VIDEO CARD- Asus HD7850 V2 2GB

READER- Lite-On DVD Rom Drive

PROCESSOR- Intel Core i7-2700K Sandy Bridge 3.5 LGA 1155 95W

RAM- Kingston HyperX 8GB 1600

MOTHERBOARD- ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 LGA 1155 Intel ATX

PSU- OCZ ModXStream Pro Power Supply-700 Watt Modular

I'm more just wondering if there is going to be anything wrong with the CPU/Motherboard Combo, or if the PSU is going to be enough. I plan on Crossfiring the video card in the future. I know the disk drive is lacking, but this is a gaming computer and I rarely use cd's anyway. Thanks in advance, and tell me what you think! Grand total is $964.

Do not get that case. It is not a quality unit, and the cable management is iffy.

The motherboard is far from the best. Get a Gigabyte board either the UD3H or UD5H and you will be much better off.

You will need a copy of windows and a DVD drive to install windows.

Otherwise good system. Rams different, and different graphics, but more or less the system I have. Definatelty do not get the ASrock motherboard and do not get the 912.

Ah, forgot about the installation of windows. Would you recommend the HAF 922 then? I really like the High Airflow design.

I am confused on which kinds of PCI Express slots I need. I want to crossfire, but should I get 3.0x16 slots (1 for each card) or can I use one 3.0 for a card and one 2.0 for a card?

Will the Power Supply be enough to crossfire?

Thanks a lot for the quick reply.

Personally I would not get anything from coolermaster again. But the 922 is better if you want that.

all PCI express slots are compatible. Don't worry about which type they are.

It should be plenty.

What happened with coolmaster? For that case, it has 1600 reviews and a perfect score on average. Plus its cheap and stylish.

Any PCI-E slot? Ok, I will keep that in mind. I want to Crossfire them once my funds becoming available.

1. Its not cheap. You can get the same thing basically and functionally from NZXT for $20 less and cheaper shipping.
2. Reviews are only as good as the user.
3. The 912 is not worth the price. It is a cheaply built and designed case. And has not enough room for the cables where it should. Your welcome to buy it if you want, but you can get the same thing cheaper, and be warned that it is not all it is cracked up to be.

and yea. if your running Cf just look for a board with 2 PCIe x16 slots with at least x8 bandwidth.

I really like the red/black combo. I will either get the NZXT Guardian or the 922.

Since I am getting either the asus 7850 or 7870, do I really need a 700+ PSU? From what I have read, both these cards operate on very low wattage. I am trying to shave off some of the costs here. Also, with the 2700k CPU, what part in my system would be the bottleneck?

I changed the RAM to G.Kill 8GB 1600. 20 dollar cheaper pricetag, and has a higher rep :) Plus it goes well with the red theme I am hoping for.

of those 2 get the coolermaster. The NZXT you choose has no cable management at all.

you can run any single graphics card except dual chip (5970, 6990, 590, 690) on a 600 watt PSU. Just make sure it is from a reputable brand, ie Antec, Corsair, NZXT, OCZ, PC power and cooling, Seasonic, Silverstone, or XFX ONLY!

Well, after extensive research I have changed a lot of the parts in the build for price purposes and function.

DISK DRIVE- ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM - 16.99

CASE- Raidmax Smilodon Extreme Black -59.99 After Rebate

PSU- COOLER MASTER GX Series RS750-ACAAD3-US 750W ATX12V v2.31 SLI Ready 80 PLUS - 64.99 After Rebate

RAM-Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600- 33.99 After Rebate

Motherboard- GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI - 119.99

TOTAL PRICE SHIPPED=983.25

Please tell me any problems with these parts together, or if there is any corners I can cut without sacrificing some performance. I already have an OS key so I don't have to buy WIN7. I'd say this is a lot better build because I can have the 7950 for a few bucks more than the 7850.

You can drop to a 2600k and push the multiplier up by one and essentially have the same chip. no need to spend more for the same thing. I would go for the UD3 over the D3, but either is fine.

I was thinkin about goin with a 2600k, but its only 10 bucks more for the 2700k. Couldn't you just pump up the 2700k and make it a 2800k too then?

Thanks for all the input btw.

ok, plus if i can wait for stock to come back in at micro center, its only 240 bucks. That puts my total in the low 900's. Damn that's a good deal.
