First build - Suggestions?

The main problem with your choices is the CPU is not compatible with the motherboard. That board is made for AMD CPU's sockets AM3/AM2+/AM2, and the CPU you chose is an Intel with socket LGA 1156.

HDD - Seagate/ Samsung is cheaper

CPU + Mobo + RAM + CPU fan.
intel cpu not work with AMD motherboard. DDR3 RAM is better than DDR2 and the cpu fan won't work anyway. You can just use stock cpu heatsink.

This looks a lot better than what I had.. Do you know if the P55V is compatible with that RAM though?
