Whats your budget?

There's no specific budget per se. However, I'm not looking to break the bank. I'm just looking for helpful suggestions for a quality build that will allow me to do the work I specified, mainly some moderate video editing

Moderate to high video editing. Hyperthreading? 2600K?-3770K?
Western Digital Black FAEX is a tad faster + more warranty.
SSD?

P Supply. Once you get to 550w-ish mark, the price diff for a bit bigger is small. All of these are high quality. For 1x 6850 any of them are plenty. If you think you might add a second down the road - 650w.
600-650 some are modular

What are you thinking for case?

I was looking at the 3770k but was looking to save in certain areas without breaking the bank. The parts I listed are being purchased in the United States whereas the case, power supply, monitor will all be purchased in Portugal. I still haven't looked around very much for those three components.

Would I be better off upgrading to the 3770k considering the hyper-threading capabilities and consider a less expensive motherboard or video card?

Forgot to mention that although I don't really have a set budget, I'm looking to stay under 900 for the parts listed above. I have considered an SDD, and I think I'll be looking into them a little more.

Depends on what's important to you, and mostly how intense your editing will be. I don't think you've mentioned gaming, so depends there too.
I don't think you've mentioned overclocking either. But the cpu/mb has the option for later on.

Can you buy from Micro Center? Looks like their cpu prices are pretty competitive. 2700K is 250. 3770k-290. They may have a -50 mb/cpu combo.

Don't know what your paying for the ASUS but a pretty nice board can be had for 150-180.

Something like the 2700K- 3770k and possible mb combo.

This will def handle video, and some gaming but if there's going to be gaming you might want a bigger one.
