First comp build..kinda..

ok cool, sounds pretty easy, should i use arctic silver 5? and it only takes that skinny little strip across the middle of the processor right?
 
Depends on if you are partial to AS 5. Stock cooling and the heatsink with the thermal pad on it is usually sufficient for me. Plus your quad won't have that much heat. My E6600 runs at about 30 degrees celcius using stock heatsink and fan.
 
alright i wont buy anythen lol... so this is how it goes... put everything together...turn on comp, put in os disk, let it install, restart, insert mobo disk, let it instal.. then im done?

If you don't plan to overclock your processor, then stock cooling/heatsink will be fine. If you do, get an aftermarket cooler. If you get the Q6600 with the B3 stepping, and want to OC, heat will become an issue.

I'm sorry you have to buy parts from Best Buy. :(
 
i added it up, roughly i think it was like 2094....or sumthin like that.. my vid card came in already, and most of my stuff will be here tomorrow and tuesday, then my mobo, processor, keyboard/mouse, soundcard will be here in a couple weeks.. ill get pics of everything, and a pic of when its done... thanks for the help. im sure ill be back on here needin some help when im puttin it together lol..
 
It's great your not buying from ibuypower, companies like that are cheap for a reason.

They will take no care with putting the computer together, or installing things properly, plus it will probably take a long time to come and the customer support terrible.

In my books, it's either a quite expensive company like Dell or Alienware or DIY.

I Do play CS 1.6 have been for the past 6 years or so, since 1.2 lol when i was like 13 or 14.. um I gettin Doom3, i had it, then i lost it, i own fear, plan on buying, stalker, Ghost Recon, bioshock, Crysis, Call of duty 2, and Far cry...again lol so yea hopefully my PC will run everything on high or ultra settings... :)
