First Computer Build

I'm looking at building my first computer and I dont know the best way to go about it so I will let you guys decide.

My Budget is around $800. Must have:
-500 Gib hard drive
-2 sound cards (nothing fancy)
-DVD Burner
-Ethernet card (Ok if on motherboard)

The case must have:
-USB and Audio Ports on the front
-Room for another Hard drive down the road.

I mostly use the computer for Internet, burning DVD's, listening to music,
some audio editing, and I play a few games but they are old (i'm not into the fancy high tech gaming.)

OS will be XP Pro.

Thanks for the help,

Fatback, Thank you for the link.

What does everyone think about this one: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=9827265

I see that the Hard Drive puts out a lot of heat, will the case allow for proper cooling or would it be better to get a smaller hard drive?

Everything looks really good expect for the DVD burner is out of stock you will have to pick another. If you don't need a 1TB hard drive I would suggest getting a 500GB for $60 and putting the extra money on something else. Also instead of the GTX 260 get the ATI radeon 4870 its close to the 260 and $30 cheaper. The case is a cooler master they are know for there cooling abilities and should be just fine if you wont with the extra $60 you can get a better case.

also it has the q9400 but on sale this week is the 9550 which has 3 times the l2 cache and is at 2.83. its a no brainer to switch the cpu's

For $800... that include os, or do you already have it?(You mentioned xp pro) We can help you out with a list that would best suit your needs.

I can spend extra for the operating system. My requirements are as stated above. Also one thing to add is it does need to have a good cooling system as the computer never gets turned off and the room it is in can heat up to about 85-90F at times when I'm not at home.

Thanks everyone for all the help.

bomberboysk, Thank you

What does everyone else think?? It come to a total of $794.80 with shipping.. The only other thing I would be adding is another sound card.

Question??? will this work as my DVD drive for a while as I already have this one. ""sony druv200a/br dvd/cd rewritable ide retail drive"" or do I need a SATA DVD Burner. The HP DVD Burner is sold out, FYI.

I've been using the same IDE CD/DVD drive for 3 years now but I only use it for Casual CD/DVD burning so it's fine for me. Do you burn alot of CD/DVDs if not use the one you have.

anyone else have any last minute suggestions? I'm going to order all the parts when I get off work later tonight. Thank you
