I'm curious what everyone's first gaming experience was, either console, computer or both...

Mine for console: Original NES - Duckhunt!!! (I hate that dog...)

for PC: Game called Master of Orion 2, great game

Oh god I had this game for the commodore 64. I can't recall the name of it but it was basically you were this one guy, and you had to run around levels jumping over ledges, climbing ladders, avoiding enemies without any weapons involved etc. That and my real gaming experience was with the one, the only, Doom 1!

:: Edit ::

lol! :D I think this was it. I'm thinking back to the days of when I was a wee nipper so my memory of the game isn't that fresh nor detailed. This games called "Lode Runner".

there was this game which was in like goldish colour and black... those computers... mmm.... it was a airplane game... then there was a flying bee thing that seemed like a boss... lol.. i dunno what that was...

my second game was prolly pacman in the same two colours

I cannot really remember what my first gaming experience was. It was before NES though. I do remember Pong but cannot say what time it came out. I'm guessing but I think the first system I played on was Coleco vision, could have been Atari. And If I had to guess, I'd say that it where Prob. Pong. My first computer gaming experience was on the Commodore64 (at school), It where prob. Pac Man, however I do remember ghost busters and several others for C64. Of course sometime after that My parents bought a Coco2 Radio Shack computer, It hooked up to the TV and used cassette tapes for storage. The thing came with a book of which you could program your own games... I spent many hours doing so. I do remember a cartridge game (which the computer also played) called Dino Wars, then there was a baseball game (cannot remember name) we also had. My first console (all others where friends/family's) was the NES and Super Mario & Duck hunt were the first games I remember on that system.

Ahhhh the memories.

My first memories of video games were when I was a baby, before I could even play them. I just remember watching my brother playing Super Mario for the NES. Then I got old enough to play it:P Definately Super Mario/Duckhunt was the first game I played. I remember watching the little intro thing in Super Mario where it would show a bit of gameplay, then Mario dying in some spot really early in the game, then when I first played it I basically mimiced what the player was doing, then started going past the first level. I guess Thats why I've always liked Super Mario games, They've been a big part of my childhood.

the first game I played were Pong and 'Asteroids' the first 3d games i played were "Wing Commander 3: Heart of the tiger" and "Tomb Raider"
as for tomb raider... i recal i was pretty scared of that game at that time... you know.. Wolves and Bears etc..

Let me see here, I was born in late 84... My first memerable gamming experience would be with either my NES or our Apple //c. I can't remember which we got first, but I beleive it was the Apple.

With the NES, it would be Mario/Duck Hunt. With the apple...eh, I don't remember the names. I know we had some western game where you were the Sherif and you could shoot anyone, good or bad :P Like a first person quick draw dealy. We also had this robot game where you'd jump room to room, but I don't remember the real point of it. That was more my bro's game, he'd probably remember it's name. Oh, and of course Space Quest and Kings Quest ;) No clue which of those I played first.

I was 5 years old and for xmas that year, I had gotten a nintendo64, with mario land and mario kart, so mario kart was my first gaming experience, I wish I could say that I remember pong, or even started out on an atari or regular nintendo, but it was the n64 for me :p

Original nintendo with Mario and Ninja turtles. For PC it was something like Treasue Cove, an educational game. The first regular game I played on PC was probably F-22 Lightning 2.

The first game I ever played was at primary school when I was about 10/11 (last year of primary school) We had a rota where we were allowed to play games on the schools only computer, an Acorn BBC Micro!

The game was Chuckie Egg, some of you may remember it. There was a version on the Amiga later on but it sucked.

VERY first game was on a Sega Genesis.... Road Rash 3 i think is what it was.... wait, i might take that back, i think Oregon trail was

My first console gaming experience that I have clear memories of is playing Super Mario Bros on the SNES. That would make it 1992, when I was 6 or 7. Before that, we had a PC, I think it was an Amstrad, that I remember playing Crimewave, and also, a game that I can't remember the name of, but where you could genetically create your own custom dinosaurs from different parts, then move them around a map drinking water, eating food and fighting other dinosaurs. It was pretty cool back then, if anyone can remember the name that'd be great.
