This will be my first build I came up with a budget of 1200USD. With some looking around I came up with this build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sXFb4D
Was wondering how that is,can be approved but staying around that price?
One thing I think I should do is downgrade to 8g ram and maybe put it in to the motherboard with sli support?

Looks like a powerful build! I would try to get an ATX Z170 board instead of that mATX H110 board. I'd try to get a 250GB SSD too. Samsung 850 Evo is a good one.

I'd probably choose a WD Blue or a Green drive, not an RE, or a Seagate (but not a 3TB Seagate).

You could downgrade to 8GB RAM if you want to save some money.

What games do you plan on playing? You may be able to go down to a gtx 970 or an R9 390.

Star citizen, escape from tarkov when those come out, arma 3, some mmos basically a lot of those games I won't be able to play on console, and some AAA games I would rather play on PC then console.

Thanks for the help I'll make sure I get the better board and switch the drives too thanks again

Ok, to play star citizen on ultra settings you would need the 980 or the 390. The 390 is cheaper then the 980 so that would be an option which would then allow you to get a 250 gb samsung evo SSD and a better HDD like a 2tb caviar blue or black drive. And as Spirit suggested, I would definitely go with a z170 board. And I'm not too keen on the diy brand cases, even though the one you chose has high reviews.
