First Gaming PC, Thoughts??

Hello everyone! I dont really know what im getting myself into lol, but I'm gonna build my first PC, was looking for some input on a build I found. I'm looking to run SC2 on ultra(and eventually Diablo 3!!) and just have a generally smooth gaming experience.

Alright, I dont really have a spending limit, but I dont expect it to be over $1000. I really dont know if Im doing too much here, but this is what I've gathered!

Comes out cheaper than the motherboard/CPU you chose, and both are as good as each other, unless you plan to use multiple video cards down the line, as the board I posted only has 1 PCIe 2.0 x16

You get yourself a much better power supply for your money, and the case is very very good too

You don't NEED a sound card, but if you want one, then go for:

instead. Much better, and cheaper, however, the first is open box. That isn't a problem, however, may mean that it doesn't have the molex - fan header power cable, so you would potentially have to buy one. Either way, it would still come in under the price of the other card, but with better sound quality

Swap the video card too for either:

both will match or outperform the 5850, but are both much cheaper

a video i seen from motherboards.com showed that the 6800 series is to replace the 5700 series of cards but are slower then the 5800 series. the 6900 series is supposed to replace the 5800 series which is not out yet

Performance wise the order is 5830 < 6850 < 5850 < 6870 in most games. At least that is the order according to the reviews I've read. For example Techpowerup's review shows that.

That is true, however 5000 series cards are last generation. Even though the 6000 cards aren't a brand new core, they are just a revised, improved version of the 5000 series cards, so like how a 5770 is ~performance of a 4850/sometimes 4870, the current mid-high AMD cards are the same as the last gen high end cards
 
A note on the speakers/soundcard. I have an xtreme audio (rebadged audigy 2) and going from an LS21 to an X-230 system (both logitechs) really makes a difference, even on a soundcard that costs $50, the difference is noticeable. onboard audio should be considered a last resort.
