First time build

Looking to build a computer for under $400. I am looking to just get used to build computers. This computer will be used for going on the internet, writing paper, and just regular daily things. Not too much into gaming for this one. Again I just want to build this one to start out on and later will try to build a high end pc. I have the monitor, speakers, keyboard, and mouse. Mobo: ASRock decent brand, AM3 so you can use faster and cheaper DDR3 memory, integrated graphics/sound
RAM: Faster/less heat/cheaper
PSU: A steal at $44. Fairly high quality, 600W (more than you'll ever need for this build), high efficiency, and modular so no spaghetti monster when it comes to cable management.
Optical: You don't need an expensive blu-ray drive, right?
SSD: Will drastically improve boot-up times if you use it as a boot drive. Also if you have space left (windows takes up 20GB) then you can load commonly used applications onto it, they'll be up in an instant. You can use your HDD to store data.

EDIT: This RAM is the same RAM, just different brand and cheaper

You managed to get an ssd in there for 400, that's pretty cool!

TS, I know you said not too much on gaming so that dual core is ok for what you described. However this x3 is only 17 more and you can save that back with some savy shopping. Great multitasker, as a matter of fact that's it's name-Supermulitasker-you won't outrun it with your "internet, daily things", and will do much better at your "not too much" (and then some) games. If you need an os that costs, you need more dough. (there are free ones)

The motherboard is pretty much a lowerend board. But for a board/memory combo, not really a bad deal. Up to you.

Drop the Green drive. Get a Western Digital Black/ Seagate 7200.12 or Samsung F3.

Drop the SSD. 32gb. will fill up really fast. Spend alittle more on atleast a 60/64gb. Or just save some more up and get a bigger one later.

Drop the OCZ power supply.
