Look good?
anything else i mite need to add?

LightScribe is useless, I can get a Sharpie to do the same thing. LiteOn is one of the top ones, however I would suggest Samsung or Sony.

Well the only reason i didnt go with the floppy + card reader is because i dont use memory cards that often so no need for me to waste money on that
cuz here in canada those run at about 34 bucks so id rather just stay at my $15 dollar floppy

thnks tho!

I heard LiteOn sucks. Maybe this one?

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...s.asp?EdpNo=3127312&Sku=S167-4500#detailspecs

It doesn't have LiteScribe but at least it's not junk. Plus it's a nice Sony for only $45. It can burn every type of DVD (besides HD and Blu Ray).

Looks good, i mite go with that one.
Does anyone have hard proof that liteon is junk tho?

thnx for replies

From what I've heard it sucks for burning Xbox games while Sony seems to the better buy. Don't know how this would deal with DVD's but still that's a very nice Sony drive for $45.

Burning/downloading games for the xbox via pc is 100% illegal, so where is the point?

I'm talking about modding Halo 2 on a disc you already own. And I was just using it as an example as it might do the same for DVD movies. Just my recommendation.

so what do yeah think?

Looks good, you can get a OEM optical drive with lightscribe and all for around $40 on newegg (maybe consider a sata model). IMO i would get a set of Corsair XMS2 ram, from experience, reviews, and from what i hear others say...

Well the only reason i didnt go with the floppy + card reader is because i dont use memory cards that often so no need for me to waste money on that
cuz here in canada those run at about 34 bucks so id rather just stay at my $15 dollar floppy

Question: what in the world do you need a floppy drive for anyway? I haven't used a floppy in a few years now.

Also, in the original list, I noticed you had Vista Ultimate for $300. From what I've read, there's probably nothing in Ultimate that you need. I'd buy the OEM version of Vista Home Premium from Newegg ($120) and save some $$.

Some of the other components are way pricier than I'd like, but if you've got the bucks to spend, why not? I don't know that I could ever pay $170 for a power supply, but that's just me.

Good luck with the build!

In order to find the best price, may I suggest you take a look at DirectCanada.com or NCIX.com (it has a price match policy).

well if i can find the best price at tiger direct and memory express i think i should be okay

and for the ram, im going to stick with the ocz platinum cuz the memory board said its better then the corsair one i picked out and i can find that same memory for 99 bucks elsewhere

but right now my big issue is compatibility
will everything here work with each component??
will i have any compatibility problems with XP?
and is my psu strong enough to support this hardware?

thnx in advanced

after shipping and such from these companies, i pay more then what i would pay at memory express since they are local for me

sry bout not saying that sooner

and i changed my ram anyways
