First time builder here. I'm looking to build a mid range gaming PC. I've been doing some research for the past few days, but I'm still a little nervous about putting the thing together. All those cables are intimidating.

Do i even need to get an aftermarket cooler?


I need a monitor as well. Any suggestions for something with low input lag.
 
Looks good; however I have only started researching pc building in January, so I am new as well.

Make sure your GPU will fit in the case you selected. It depends on how much space your drive bays take up. It should fit, but it is something you will want to look into before buying.

Here's a good 1TB HDD that I have been recommended. It costs barely anymore than your 500GB CB. However, its 3GB/s rather than 6GB/s

I am not an expert on MBs, but I think the one you chose should do fine. If you decide to take some of these cost saving tips I gave, you could upgrade your MB anyways. Watch youtube reviews on your motherboard to help you better understand what it has to offer.
 
Thanks for pointing out the overkill. Some crappy power calculator told me i needed 700watts.

I'll definitely check out the deals as well. Looks like newegg.ca has was less deals though, and due to lolcanada I can't buy from .com.
 
How awesome is having your operating system installed on a Solid State Drive?
Should I blow another 60 bucks or so on one?
