I'll be changing the Tower for a cooler looking one. I want to know ur opinion on this. How good would it be? I want it to play games life half life 2, WOW, AOE 3, City of Heroes, FEAR games like that. How good is that vid card?

Any advice would be apreciated.

Basically that 6800GS is the lower clocked version of the 6800GT, Like the GT it plays the games you listed fine so I should Think that the GS would play all of them games on medium/high settings with quite good fps:)

Higher clock, fewer pipes. But I take your point, it's slightly less powerful than the GT, and a great card at that budget.

1. Don't get that PSU. There's more to a PSU than it's wattage rating, read PSU101 for more details.
2. AMDs are generally better for gaming than P4s. I'd look at the AMD 3700+, which is roughly the same price as that P4. You'd need a different mobo as well, of course.

The 6800 GS looks like it hits the sweet spot between price and performance this holiday season. Aside from cutting the cost of the 6800 GT, the 6800 GS doesn't cost that much more than a vanilla 6800 with 256MB of RAM. As the vanilla 6800 performs just slightly better than the 6600 GT, we can say with confidence that the 6800 GS has taken over the 6800 line and is the only real option left of the bunch.

About what I expected, having seen quite a few of these reviews. It seems to perform only a couple of FPS below the GT (I did say SLIGHTLY less powerful). Obviously it won't compare to a 7800GT, but then again the price difference is significant. Much better value than the 6800GT, IMO.

thats the link to the video card, r u sure thats the same video card as the 6800 GS that the link talks about?
It might not be the exact same one, but it is the same GPU. Plus it has the advntage of having slightly higher clock speeds then the standard 6800 GS
whats wrong w/ the power supply?
Its a weak PSU with on 16A on the 12V rail. Look at dual rail PSU's (they have 2 12V rails, sharing the load) or a PSU with a minimum of 28A on the 12V rail. As said above, the wattage doesnt make the PSU strong.
