First time Building a PC motherboard / CPU compatibility question

This is the build im currently planning on getting I have enough to purchase the Motherboard and CPU right now but I dont have enough knowledge about my setup ... just wanted to make sure everything in this build will work together fine (Did I piece it together right or did i group together parts that arent gonna work with one another)

Also If anyone has any suggestions to bring the price down a bit that would be greatly appreciated I dont wanna go too cheap though because right now I have a decent system but its just becoming too slow for my needs I definitely want to go quad core

So my main question right now is are the Motherboard and CPU i picked out compatible with one another?

Also I would like to maybe possibly take my build down to 500-600$ not too cheap though.... Main purpose of this system will be Viewing high def media as well as a above average gaming machine

Get AMD Phenom IIx3 720
video card get 4870 512MB
Motherboard - if you not crossfire, get GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P
HDD: Get one with 16MB Cache

Everyone will prob moan at my idea but I just brought a cooler master elite 330 and my system runs very cool and quiet if its cheaper where ur from maybe you could save a bit there and you could get a AMD 720BE with a nice cooler and overclock and it should be good enough for your needs and save money as the graphics card is used more when gaming / movies and on the graphics card if you can save money you will only need 512mb memory. Look at loads of reviews and take your time, lol I went wrong there and started off with a rubbish build and now have loads of spare rubbish components..
