Hello everyone,

First of all I apologize for my bad English.
Next month I want to build my own computer. Here are some of the things I want it comply to
- I will use it mainly to play games and photo editing.
- The games I like to play are the Call of Duty series and Total War series.
- Want to use my pc for 3-5 years at least so it can run games in the future (doesn’t have to run the games on high performance)
- And at last my budget is €700,- max (if possible €600,-)

I have done some research over the past few days and here is what I found:

Case: CM Storm Midi Tower Storm Enforcer ATX €70
Motherboard: Asus*P8Z77-V LK*iZ77 €130
Processor: Intel*Core i3 3240*3.40GHz 3MB*Box €130
RAM: Corsair 2x4GB, DDR3, PC12800, CL9, Vengeance (red) €38
HDD: Seagate*Harddisk 3.5"*1TB, SATA600, 7200rpm €68
Power supply: Corsair Voeding CX750 750W €64
Graphic card: Radeon HD7870*2GB €221

Brings a total of €721

As you can see it exceeds my budget. So my question is:
What can I change without losing too much.
And also I did like to know if I would buy these things would they be compitable?
This will be my first time building a pc so it can happen that I missed something.
Thanks a lot!

Can you try and bring down the PSU wattage to like 600W ish? Not sure if you need 750W for a 650Ti...

You can also bring down your processor from i5 to i3. i3 isn't too bad from what I've heard...

Go for a CX 500 or a CX 600 PSU from Corsair and then try to put more money into the graphics card and get something like a Radeon 7850. That'd work much better for you than the 650 Ti would.

couple of things can make it cheaper. Power supply, all you need is 5-600 watts. CPU is overkill. You can easily max COD with a Celeron G530. A i3 is great for the price if you want the little extra power. The SSD should go in favour of a hard drive. The SSD will help almost none, and you will not be able to do more than 1 or 2 games on a 64GB drive.

And that board is not great. It can not even live up to what ASrock claims. They claim 8+4 phase power, but it is 4+1+1 split, meaning that it can not hold as much CPU power as a true 8+2+2 board could. I would go for a Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H or above or a P8Z77 -V LK or above. An EVGA z77 SLI is not bad either. None of this is a problem unless you plan to in the future when you have more funds to upgrade to a 3570k or 3770k.

Graphics, check on a HD7850 or HD 7770 for it. A HD6870 will do just fine too. COD is not exactly a demanding game.

Yeah what you want to do is spend the most you can on the graphics card, and then spend the rest on what you can. i3 and a 7850 would be a very nice setup.

Thanks everyone I made some changes, I go for a i3 3240, and switched to HD7870 GPU.
Also dropped the cooler on the CPU cause it is not needed i guess.
At last changed the PSU to a Corsair 600W.
But still exceeds my budget. Some more advice?

I suggest you buy a cheaper case tower for your computer. The one i suggest is a Tsunami Gaming Manager Black Mid Tower Computer Case, which you can buy from scan.co.uk for €40, meaning you will bring it down below €700 your maximum budget.
