First time building/buying a PC!

Any help would be appreciated greatly, thanks in advance.

I need help knowing what PC to buy. I don't think that building a pc is in my price range at the moment, so I think buying one would be the best.

My interests are having a decent computer, preferably a desktop so I can use video editing software with no lag and such. I want to be able to use Cinema 4D and Sony vegas pro without having to wait and have crashes, but I have no idea what to buy or what exactly I need to buy. Hopefully a pretty fast computer that can handle these programs within the range of $500 dollars which I think is a big challenge. If anyone can give me some help or advice on what to buy and what exactly I should be looking for thanks a million !

Building a computer is much cheaper than buying one pre-built. For video editing you want a good graphics card and a lot of RAM (~24GB). $500 is a pretty low budget to be honest.

Building usually doesn't cost more and allows you to customize the parts and peformance to your specific needs. Lets see -

If any gaming on this pc, what games?
Do you have anything that can be reused? operating system/cd/dvd/hdd/case/?
What's the absolute max, if needed, you can spend?
What country are you in, so we know where you can buy from?
If you have a desktop now, state make&model or post its specs.

Benny Boy,

I will not be gaming on this Cpu, if any game, it will be Minecraft.
I don't have anything that can be reused. Starting from scratch.
From USA, no desktop now, and absolute Max has to be 400 Dollars. I will obviously upgrade later, but I need something to start with.

I honestly don't mind if I buy something for cheap now and upgrade it as time goes. Thanks.

and wait for more money for psu, ram and video card :D

Honestly ... Id try to get an ivybridge i5 and a decent 1155 motherboard... ram is cheap... I don't know a good gpu for video editing.. you can get a good case for 80 bucks though..

Thanks alot man, just a few questions.

I am legit starting from SCRATCH. No desktop in hand or anything. What should I do? I don't know the first thing for building a desktop, but I'm sure Ill learn how to install the parts on my own, but building it is the problem.

If I don't make sense Im sorry I tried my best, lmao.

It would be nice if we could say what we want then get it for the price we want. Wouldn't it? ;)
500 won't even get started building if you dont have peripherals.

Here's a couple deals I found on an AMD system + 3 promos for 40 off. Still 615 shipped w/o montor/keyboard/mouse. But better than any new prebuilt you'll find. at that price.

Hey man,

That computer that is built above is pretty nice... but its in the 600's .

Maybe you could build a computer for around that price and try a bill me later... no sure how good your credit is... you can pay it off interest free in 6 months.

As for building a computer... its not very difficult at all if your patient. I think the first computer I ever built I installed the motherboard without the standoff screws :D This site is great for when you run into issues while building, no question is stupid either.
