First time building, need help

I'm not seeing a motherboard on your list. I'm not sure what your plans for this build is, but with that video card I'm going to assume gaming. These are just my personal suggestions and definitely wait for input from other members before making any decisions :)

I'm a very big fan of asus and love their motherboards. With that 580, you are going to want a better power supply.

$30 gift card with puchase of the PSU by 12/31!!

Your video card would dominate anything out, but if you don't want to build this right away you could always wait for the Radeon 6990. Here is a link from Anandtecch:

That video card isn't out yet, but it should be around $550 when released.

That case is a nice case, here is another option:

I personally love the Lanboy just for the many options it gives for cable management, and you can pretty much customize it the way you want.

You're ram is DDR2 and with you're I7 you have listed you are going to have to run DDR3. Here is a link to the ram that I have:

This will be a beast of a computer and a beast deserves a Solid State Drive. Here is a link to the Vertex 3 60gb (one of the fastest SSD's out right now):

If you aren't going with gaming let us know so that we can find parts to better suit your needs, and hopefully save you a bunch of $$$! :D

The only difference between Z68 and P67 is the motherboard has integrated graphics on Z68, as well as SSD caching. Not worth the price hike for two features you may never use.

It kinda defeats the purpose of having an SSD though. Just like people that buy SSD's and stick the page file on their HDD... lots of stuff still uses the pagefile so it's only going slower cause it's on the HDD instead of the SSD.
