Hi guys,
This is going to be the first time building a desktop for me so i want your input on the parts.

CPU- AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core

MB- XFX MDA72P7509 AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

RAM- Crucial 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Video card- SPARKLE SXX2851024D3-VP GeForce GTX 285 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

internal hd-Western Digital Caviar GP WD10000LSRTL 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive

PSU- CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

Case- HEC 6C28BB8S Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Sound card-SIIG IC-710012-S2 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface SoundWave

I have a concern that the MB may not be able to fit the video card. Feel free to suggest any replacement but keep in mind that i am trying to keep cost down as much as possible. Thanks

First question is do you have a budget and how much? If you are at your budget right now the main thing I would change is the motherboard for future upgrade options. You could go with this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131367 or the gigabyte equivalent. This will allow you to upgrade to the phenom II's when the price goes down and you can afford what you like. I see you have future upgrade potential with your PSU. If you can get a good PSU and MB it will save you money down the road on upgrades as you will only have to get a new cpu...or more/faster RAM etc...

Ok just read the last line of your post, when I get more time I will do a little research to see if that video card will fit.

Thanks for the input, i think the MB jevery suggested is good, but i have a question about the MB Breadman 177 suggested. The MB didn't say it support Athlon 64, it only said Athlon, does that mean it doesn't support Athlon 64?

Breadman 177, thanks for the case suggestion. That one looks pretty good. I still have one concern though. Do i need any extra cooling fan or is the one that came with the cpu, video card, and the case are fine?

The Video card is way overkill for the processor your getting. You would be better off getting something like a GTX 260 and A Phenom II 720/810/920 or 940. Plus are you going to be running SLI Later on?

Well that all depends, I have the same CPU as you and so does my wife and we are both using stock coolers. Mine runs at 59 under heavy load but hers runs at 53. So if money is a concern then try it without and see what the temp gets to then go from there. Mine gets about 10-12 degrees higher than idle under a good load so if you aren't willing to test it under a load just check idle temps. I havent bought a cooler in many years so I'm not sure what to tell you to get. Although someone suggested to me a good one that was right about $30.......This was the one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185125

sorry for asking so many question, but would a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor( roughly same price as the cpu in the current build) give me more power and speed?

No, your going backwards. The 7750 at 2.7 is pretty much a match for the X2 6000. Plus the 7750 overclocks better. Why are you willing to spend so much on a video card but only get a 7750 or X2 6000?

sorry but yet again another question. with the MB you guys suggested, GIGABYTE GA-MA790GP-UD4H AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard, do you guys think i should get a sound card or is the onboard sound good enough for 5.1 system?

The GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard seems like a pretty good board plus its cheaper.

I'll ask again. Is there some reason your getting a GTX 285 but only a AMD 7750 or X2 6000 processor. You know those processors will bottleneck the hell out of that video card.

well basically i am just trying to keep cost down, but if it would pull down the gpu then what would you suggest?

I like that 770 MB, but i want to keep the 3.0Ghz phenom 940. Is it a good idea to pair the 770 MB with the phenom 940?
