First time building

Hey well I recently decided to purchase a computer but thought, why not build one? Sounds like fun.

I was hoping you guys/gals can help me in the process of doing so. I don't know much about computers when it comes to taking them apart but i am a fast learner and would like to learn!

I did some research before posting this, and came up with the idea of having 3 monitors. Running on a GTX 580, i7 2600k, 8gb ram, not sure if im making any sense. I also like the fractal design cases not sure if the mid size or full xl.

Hoping you guys can help pick out the parts, this would be for playing games, streaming, and doing some video editing and rendering.

This would be a build from scratch so i would need just about everything, specially your guys help!

Price range im thinking about $2,500 from newegg.

Thank you!

that's pretty good, and good parts too, may need 2 580's to get 3 monitors, idk bout that part though, but i'll look for ya

Thanks, and I only plan on playing in one monitor, so when I live stream I can multitask. But will in the future get a second or two more 580's.

actually, this might not be enough for running 3 monitors and a gtx 580 with a 2600k, i've been looking around and i think i may have barely gotten you in budget after you pick a case and a keyboard and mouse, which i left a bit for

with this como (doesn't let you put them on the lists):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.718453

this was a combo with extra off, and the 570 is still more than powerfull enough, the 580 is overkill, and you can get a second 570 and some point and use a little bridg/connector and they will work together, but also the problem with this was that one card only supports 2 moitors, so you can also add a second and that'll put you ate ~2250 leaving 250 for the case and mouse/keyboard, which is plenty anyways, so there ya go, but don't forget to click on the combo and go to the 570 and add it to the card so you have 2

and the 580 you planned to use is a waste, it is made for overclocking and costs way more than any other 580, the most expensive air cooled ones are in the 550's, and the base modles that perform just as good as the others only cost in the 450's, and that one costs 650

made some changes, so how many monitors can a gtx580 support?
Might as well rise up my budget and go for the two gtx 580

As for fans should I get some? And what is the difference on the HDD and and the SSD you picked?

I'm a bit confused.

forgot to put a hdd too, but a ssd is a virtual hdd, like a flash drive, a comparison would be like a cd player to an ipod, the ipod will load the music much faster, so you put things like the os and programs/games you use the most on the ssd and they will load much faster, turning say a 1 1/2 minute load into a 30second load time, and truly 2 580's is straight overkill, and you have to have 2 cards cuz each only has 2 dvi slota, so you can go up to 4 monitors with 2, or 2 with 1

for the hdd, look up a F3 1tb, only 60 bucks and best value hdd

no need for extra fans, the case and the cpu have ones that come with them, should be fine, but i do want to say that case is soooooooooo plain, there are some awsome ones like the cooler master haf series cases, lian li has some cool ones, just like more show-e cases that say, this is a 3k comp., not a plain dull one.

I can do 2x 580, no problem with me. And thanks for the info, and yes I like that case, it's just plain and simple!

And just to make sure everything works perfectly fine together? I don't want to buy it and end up knowing I made a mistake with their compatibility lol

Anything you recommend? Thanks alot for your help!

for 15 more they have the gold certified version of that psu, meaning it is more efficient with the power that comes in to the amount given to the system, also don't forget the f3 1 terabyte, stil don't like the case, and your saying you like that more than any of these, just look at the

and if you don't like that last antec performance one series than there is just something wrong with you in my opinion, it's a nice and simple but clean and classic case, similar to yours but way better too.

oh, and the reason the 850 watt you picked and i said were so expensive wsa the certification for efficiency, and these aren't as high efficiency, so the power bill may be higher, but the head room will be goo, and you normally want at leas a 50 watt head room anyways for safety, and these are all great brands too

won't go to the comparison page so i have to do individual links

fixed the links above, and there were others i was going to say that were still in your style, but those were the most plain, and i think it's really stupid that on alot of those, they don't paint the inside of a ~150 buck case, but my 37 buck case is painted on the inside, that just seems rediculous.

yep, i knew once you looked you'd see that something that bland is a waste on something so expensive, if you're paying that much for something i'd wanna show it off, i mean would you put a ferrari engine in a van or something

and for the power, that and the corsair are the best, i looked again and the oher 2 aren't that good, there's nothing wrong with them but you don't want a ton of 12v rail.

as far as i can tell, and i don't wanna see pics, look at my sig and you'll know y, i already have to look at my dad's imac 27'' i7-860 with a HD 4850 and 12GB's of ram every day, my life stinks in that aspect, still got an xbox 360 on a 42" and a comcast dvr with all the movie channels and hd on a 65'' hooked up to 2 big but sony's and an equalizer plus some other brand little speaker for the treble
