first time built computer - faulty gaming

So I bought all the parts for a computer. and they are literally made for one another installed windows all the drivers that came with every piece of hardware, checked all the updates so everything is up to date. Then the games I installed crash shortly after starting after the game crashes so does everything else. nothing will work. so after restarting everything works most of the time with browsers and things randomly crashing at times. the main specs for the computer are below.

CPU: - AMD Phenom II 1090T Black edition 6 core processor 3.2 GHz
Ram: - 3x 4Gb DDR3 Kingstonmax 1333HTz
GPU: - Gigabyte Radeon 1Gb HD 6770
Motherboard: - Asus M5A97
 
Sounds like faulty memory.

Download memtest86+ and burn it to a CD from a functioning computer, then test it on the one you're having issues with.

If you see any errors at all, return the RAM and get it replaced. I'm just guessing but I think you'll be seeing quite a lot of errors.
