First time computer building motherboard help

So, this is my first computer im planning to build and im on a really tight budget ($500-$600 ish). I not planning to make it a super machine, i just want it to be able to play most games (COD 4 etc.). I looked a little bit online and found that the "Asus M2A-VM AMD Socket AM2 MicroATX Motherboard " (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2968644&body=REVIEWS#tabs) has some good reviews and is very cheap. Will this ram work well with this motherboard: Corsair XMS2 DHX 2048MB Dual Channel PC6400 DDR2 Memoryhttp://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3089875&CatId=2261 If not, can someone recommend me RAM thats total 2GB, thats cheap, compatible, and good?

Another concern of mine is finding a processor that is compatible, cheap, and fairly efficient. I found "AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Processor " (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2207188&CatId=2324
I want to know if it will work on this motherboard and if its a wise choice because it's cheap, and fast. Will it really affect me that it isn't dual core and will it suite moderate gaming? If its not a good choice and you can recommend a better processor fitting my budget parameter, please do so and explain your rational.

Also, if some1 knows if this Mobo really sucks, can you recommend me one that fits my needs and is under $100 and don't forget to tell me the rational of what you're suggesting.

Thanks in Advance.
