Hi
So finally, i did buy a laptop. For years, i had been using just desktops at my place and they all used wired connection between each other. File transfer speeds were good. But when i began using the laptop (wirelessly), the file transfer speed sucked (internet speed is excellent, meanwhile).
I checked: the wired transfer speed is about 8.5MB/sec and the wireless speed is about 1.5MB/sec. I have enabled WPA2 security for the wireless.
Another thing is if I open a video located on my desktop with my laptop (access the desktop video from laptop wirelessly), the video skips/lags(?) frequently. If I try to open a .exe file the same way, the folder gets frozen.
These problems don't happen when I do desktop to desktop wired.
What could be the problem? Or is there a problem (is this how all wireless network work?) I heard enabling security reduces the speed. But does that explain the whole story?
Thanks guys.
