Well, finally i am on to pc building due to the fact that recently my desktop died ( not that i use it ) but i saw the exellelent time to salvage some parts for a planned build. i want some power for my pound and i am currently not looking at any oveclocking yet but this is what i think for some : light gaming, budget and power :

processor = http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-327-AM&tool=3
motherboard = http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4384#sp
case = http://www.google.co.uk/shopping/pr...=X&ei=gjG0UdjpMeyS0QW95YD4DA&ved=0CIgBEPMCMAQ
psu = no idea

now i have some questions:

1) is the free bundled game sc5 / simcity 2013
2) are all the parts compaitble
3) does the case come with a cd drive
4) how do i connect the motherboard to the power button
5) is the processor powered through the motherboard
6) if i overclock will the motherboard not power the processor
7) can the onboard gpu handle simcity 5
8) what cheap psu should i use to power
9) can someone give me a link to the best 8gb ram for this
10) what cooling system
11) am i asking too many questions

thank you

1) is the free bundled game sc5 / simcity 2013
Yes
2) are all the parts compaitble
So far yes but you will also need ram and a harddrive/ssd.
3) does the case come with a cd drive
No, they are about $20. I would look at a nicer case like a Fractal Design model.
4) how do i connect the motherboard to the power button
There is a header for all the front connections. Instructions will be in the Motherboard manual.
5) is the processor powered through the motherboard
Yes.
6) if i overclock will the motherboard not power the processor
The motherboard has some OC features to be able to overclock. Power should not be a concern.
7) can the onboard gpu handle simcity 5
It will play it but not on high settings.
8) what cheap psu should i use to power
Spend a decent amount on the PSU. It's insurance for the rest of the parts. Corsair, Seasonic, and several others are good.
9) can someone give me a link to the best 8gb ram for this
The best deal for fairly quick ram is your best bet. Most ram use the same chips and such so lately it does not matter unless you are looking to OC to the highest degree. Look for some 1866+ ram as the GPU shares it with the CPU and helps gaming performance.
10) what cooling system
Cooler Master Hyper 212 unless you wanna spend more for a closed loop water cooler.
11) am i asking too many questions
No, got any more?

If APU get Richland.
Don't get that case. Get one with bottom mount PS, cable management features, and ample cooling.

the hard drive isnt a problem for me but some more questions :

1. is 8gb enough for gaming mostly sc5 and maybe recording at the same time

2. i need a LINK for the a good psu but fairly cheap

3. can i use a old cd drive from a previous computer ( staticly shocked )

4. would you recommend a graphics card to me or not considering this is a budget build

5. whats the best overclocking speed for turbo mode

6. should i get a ssd considering i want the bang for the buck or power for the pound

7. can you recomend a better motherboard which is fairly cheap ( under £100 )

8. anything you can say or recommend i do for this planned build?

thanks

The hard drive isnt a problem for me but some more questions :

1. is 8gb enough for gaming mostly sc5 and maybe recording at the same time

Definitely.

2. i need a LINK for the a good psu but fairly cheap

Corsair CX500

3. can i use a old cd drive from a previous computer ( staticly shocked )

New drives can be had for very cheap. It's worth spending the $20 to have the drive last you another 3+years LG

4. would you recommend a graphics card to me or not considering this is a budget build

I say first try it with the onboard. If you don't feel its enough then buy a video card.

5. whats the best overclocking speed for turbo mode

Every chip OC's differently. That being said, 4.4ghz shouldn't be an issue with a proper cooler : Cooler Master

6. should i get a ssd considering i want the bang for the buck or power for the pound

Yes, the performance increase is tremendous.

7. can you recomend a better motherboard which is fairly cheap ( under £100 )

Asus F2A85-V

8. anything you can say or recommend i do for this planned build?

Spending a little extra now save lots later.

1. yes
3. as long as its Sata
4. depends on what the budget is
5. NA
6. start w/o one and see how you like it.

for a smaller budget you're looking at something like this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-353-AM
7. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-017-SP
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-017-AD
2. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-007-XF

8. state > the model of salvaged parts, what's the max budget amount and if it needs to include more than the case/components/OS.

On a budget, with a good case, modular isn't all that important. XFX is better built and more amps than CX, might come in handy later.

Get a board with better power delivery that the 4+. @ OC site that UP4 is not much over 100. The one I listed would be good too.

If your going to get a video card I would drop the APU and socket FM2. Go with a socket AM3+ and a FX.

I agree. The only reason for going with the APU is if you don't want discrete graphics, but for gaming I'd recommend getting a proper graphics card if you can.
