Intel, Q6600, HD4870, 4GB 1066 DDR2 RAM, Asus motherboard, Seagate HDD, DVD/CD drive with or w/o lightscribe (i dont use mine thoguh its a $1 difference). Does this include peripherals? IE keyboard, mouse, speakers and monitor?

Thanks

Thanks for the help. It does include peripherals, and I will eventually pick those out. For now, all I want is the basic parts. Is that all I need?(excluding OS)

Lower Price?

Is there anything I can do to make the price smaller without altering the PC too much? With the hardware, software(OS), and moniter and speakers, I want to keep it around $1,000.00. I didn't realize that the screen, speakers, and OS would jack up the price so much. Also, what version of Vista should I get?(Ultimate, Basic, etc.) Keep in mind this PC will be used for the whole family.

Well, then you don't need a very expensive CPU, get this instead:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115052&Tpk=E7200

it will save you ~$50 and still make a good job. It's a Core 2 Duo.

Also, since it's not gonna be a computer solely for gaming, get an HD4850 instead of an HD4870, here's the link:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102770

That'd save you ~$100

Also, you could get this power supply instead (since you wont be getting a Quad Core processor or the HD4870)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004&Tpk=corsair 550w

It will save you ~$40, only difference is 100W and the fact that it is not modular. And other minor differences. But it will still work great ;)

As for the RAM, you can save ~$25 by getting this instead, which again, will work great anyways:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122

As for the motherboard, this one can save you ~$40

NOTE

The above are not "bad" or in any matter "worse" items than the previous ones, they are just not the best for gaming. You will still have a kick-ass faimly rig! ;)
