Flash Player not working?

Hi
I'm running XP pro and all the sudden the flash player doesn't appear to be working on Firefox and IE8...I get missing plug in message on Firefox and a white box only on IE8..I've uninstalled and re installed both manually and automatically...thing I don't understand is netflix online movies are working and i thought that uses Flash

Hmm, what version are you running? Have you upgraded to Flash 10.2? If you type "aboutlugins" into the browser bar, is flash listed?

It doesn't work for me either. It doesn't even display a "missing plugin" error. I was able to watch the video through one of the following posts, which quoted the original post and had the Youtube link.
