Can someone explain this term,I have been to my BIOS update supplier and those tekkies couldn't explain it in term a noobie could understand

Flashing BIOS is simply updating it...you shouldn't do this unless you absolutely NEED to, as if you do something wrong, you basically have an expensive paperweight.

Well, I'm not sure how you purchased it, but usually you download it from the motherboard/computer manufacturer's website, copy the flash utility to a floppy disk, and restart and start the flash utlity.

asus gives you an update utility on the cd but that might be out of date so download the latest update utility from the web then let it update your bios

Asus made the board In 2002

Be very careful and choose the right motherboard model before dowloading the latest BIOS. As your motherboard seems too old, it needs the latest afudos exe file in order to flash the new BIOS. Don't copy the afudos exe file from your mobo CD support coz it's already been outdated, instead download it from the http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us, save it into the floppy disk as well as the latest BIOS.

Make sure you are in MS-DOS environment when doing this not in your OS C:prompt. Good luck
