Flashing the BIOS

My motherboard is an OEM version od the Foxconn 671M, the full model number for my board is 671M01-8KSH.
I'm just wondering whether i can flash the bios safely to unlock my overclocking abilities... Is it safe for an OEM board? I really don't want to f*** up this system.
The board has all the same features/specs as the non-OEM version.

There will be no overclocking features on an oem board. If you try flashing it with the wrong rom file, you'll make it a paperweight.

But doesn't flashing the bios make the overclocking options available? I've flashed many a bios before but it been a while since i have.

Not on an oem board. If you want overclocking options then you need to buy a different motherboard. You can try it and see though. Worst thing is that you'll have to buy a different motherboard anyway. I doubt the board will take the different bios string though.

I agree with what Johnb35 has stated. Original Equipment Manufacturer motherboards have much less upgrade options than many retail motherboards. I wouldn't try to flash the BIOS because I highly doubt you will get what features you want even if the BIOS flash is successful.

Fair enough then, i'll just go looking for a non-OEM Foxconn 671M.
