my neibhors threw a computer away today so i decided to pick it up and mess around with the insides. i opened it up and the first thing i noticed was that the hdd was really flat. i said to myself it must be really old but then i noticed that the motherboard had an agp slot and the ps has 500w, and it had a dvd reader with it too. can anyone shed some light on what is that really flat hard drive?

Flat hard drive? aren't all hard drives flat?

I'm pretty sure that's a Quantum bigfoot. I've always liked those for some reason ;) Plus, it's not too uncommon to see drives that are slightly different sizes than othres. I have a 3.5" drive in my Tester that's a bit shorter than a standard 3.5"

It just looks like a large, flat hard drive. From the pic, it looks like todays hard drives are smaller and thinner.
