Flatscreen Vista Ready?

While I was watching the new this morning, This news woman was showing a 22" flatscreen widescreen HD monitor. and said "Microsoft Vista Ready"

Now wouldn't that depend on your on-board GPU or a good card already installed. Basically it requires your hardware not OS.

Hope that was clear. Someone clarify for me please. Thanks;)

She's a saleswoman. She has no idea what the heck she is talking about. You could use a 10" CRT monitor with Vista. It doesn't matter.

It may a bit confusing here, because technically pretty much any computer monitor can be used with Vista. But in order to watch Blu-Ray and HD DVD's, you need an HDCP compatible video card and monitor, for enhanced DRM protection.

So if your GPU is integrated I am out of luck? I need a special GPU in order to watch HD?

If you use Vista and have a Blu-Ray or HD DVD drive, then yes. But you can download HD videos from legit websites, and movie download services such as Vongo.
