Flood damage

Here in south Louisiana we're just getting through the clean-out/tear-out/throw away phase after the recent flood. My neighborhood had an estimated 24" of rain in 48 hours(!); thankfully, my home and property all stayed high and dry, but many friends and neighbors weren't so lucky. Quite a few had PCs inundated -- desktops and laptops. Are those all just automatically trash, or could some be rescued? Any tips on trying to do that?

Depends. Newer computers always have some power flow if they are plugged in. Plus flood water is dirty. If it was me, I would take them apart, see what they looked like. Clean them up and set them up apart. Let the parts completely dry out. Put it/them back together and see what happens.
