floppy drive help !? (if you remember what one is !! )

Hello all ! :)

Problem:- I use stitching machines to embroider caps etc, they only work with floppy disks ! The name has to be saved on the computer first to a floppy then that floppy transfered to the machine to load the file. This all works fine, here is the problem:-

MANY MANY MANY times I have had employees sell stuff, not put it down and pocket the cash ! :eek:

The solution I need is something along these lines:-:rolleyes:

Everytime a file is saved to the A: drive make a copy of that file saved automatically on hard drive or FTP to website but renaming it with a timestamp or similar so as not to overwrite any file of the same name !!:confused::confused::confused:

Anybody that can help in this department ? Do any of you even remember the good old floppy disk ? Surely there is a log or record of all files sent to a floppy drive ?!?!?!? I can´t for the life of me figure this out !

System, windows XP with SP2 installed.

Do you mean a logger to see what/who stores the most stuff to a portable device?

I saw an ad in PC World about such a program. *Digs out last month's issue*

wow i saw this ad on pcMAg i think... yea it is crazy, it lets u knw whows doing what and when and stuff. It also lets u knw who is transfering files onto removable media...the people that steal ur company's secrets

Wow guys, thanks for the help, looked it up on the net but MY GOD ! that does a lot of sneaky stuff, I dont want to feel like big brother but what a fantastic bit of software !! Bet youtube got a lot less clicks when this came out !


What I need basically is just some form of capturing any file sent to the floppy drive, dont know if it is posssible to make the DMA and FDD make a duplicate (or save to both at same time) so as to store a copy on hard drive of each file sent to the floppy. I think if I started using that Spector 360 I would be firng my staff every other day !!!

I would fire them all believe you me, trouble is, I have this business in Spain and the laws make it near imposible to fire them without SOLID proof ! That and the fact that it takes me about 6 months to teach them how to use the damn things in the first place !!!

I had one stealing a while ago, fired her, she took me to court....she won ! You wanna know why....... The Judge said "she earns xyz and puts all this money in the till each day, you are putting temptation in her path and hence not her fault !" CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT !! Anyway, it is for that reason I need the SOLID proof as I know I have another one now !

Any help greatly appreciated !!
