Fn help!!!

i have a acer extensa 2000, only the Fn button is stuck on all the time, ive checked and the key isnt stuck down, so is there a setting that could have been triggered? please help me with this

what does it do/what are the exact symptoms? many laptops that do not have full keyboards supplement a number pad by using a "function (fn)" numpad which takes up part of the alphabetical keyboard. this is usually done by pressing fn and number lock simultaneously. i dont know if this is your problem, but try pressing fn+numlock and see if that fixes it.

yeah that did the trick.
sorry i wasnt reall good at describing the problem, like you said laptops dont have a full keyboard so they use the fn button to allow multi use of the keys, when i pushed certain buttons instead of the letters that are supposed to come up numbers would, i managed to type the first post by holding down the Fn button.

Thanks for the help, i was close to throwing the compuer out and buying a new one..
