Folder in external drive not showing

I create a new folder in my HDD connected to a friend's laptop and sent some files, but I am unable to see this folder. Is there any free software that I can use to solve this problem?

Depending on the location of said folder, you may need to take ownership of that folder if its in a different computer. Download and run this file. It will allow you take ownership by right clicking on that folder and click on take ownership. This is an issue when you place files and folders inside your user folder. If it was placed in the root, you would have been able to access it no problems.

Just follow the prompts to allow this to merge with the registry.
