Folders In Start Menu

i was browsing through my start menu programs list on vista i came across many folders such as "Norton Internet Security" and others which contained no files. I uninstalled it long ago, was i right to delete that? I did a few of them can i screw up my computer?

Deleting stuff from your start menu doesn't mess anything up. Start Menu entries are just shortcuts.
