the comp i have will not recognize the floppy drive at all. i have tried multipul drive but still get the same result. i thought flashing the bios would help. no luck there if the floppy drive wont work. the reason i want to flash the bios is evry time i boot i get a floppy drive error and have to hit esc two times. also the bios boot takes about 2.5 mins to run. very not freindly. my guess is the mobo floppy controler is dead. any suggestions to get around these anouying errors? edit: i have tried changing bios seting and no luck there.

edit: well what do you know clearing bios work. still take 2min to boot tho.

You can disable the floppy drive in BIOS setup by pressing Del(F2 in some motherboards) key. then when the computer boots, it will not search for floppy drive at all.
I don't know how to repair ur floppy but it can help u to wait less.
