Antech 900- I have it and i added one extra 120mm on the side for gpu cooling and it runs like an a/c, my quad cpu is 21c under stress

Intel e8400- im not sure about that i dont know much about intel's im personally an AMD guy and mine is running amazingly. And i only paid 189

Memory- good choice. i have kingston pc 6400 and i got 4 gigs for 89 after tax.

psu- i have that same one. never had problem and its got plenty of extra power.

os- i dont know much about vista, but i hear ultimate is kinda pointless to have right now. i have xp pro sp2 still on mine and it runs awesome. no point for me to run vista, but maybe you need it for something.
 
thanks twitch, i dont need it, i just thought that it is supposed to be the best version of vista, i have no problem going with xp, i love it, i just dont think that there is a point in spending money on one os this year and a different one next year, i would love to hear feedback of what to get for an os for my system
 
Well now that I got a little better GPU because mine was having issues. Im going to put Ultimate on, some say its lame some say its awesome so I'm going to just test it myself. I'm going to go buy a WD raptor today and load a new version of Ultimate 64 and test some games on it, I'll post in this topic to tell you how it runs and everything.

The E8400 will be faster, uses less power, have a higher cache, is easier to cool, has smaller and more transistors, and will cost only $183, being arguably better than your AMD.
 
I didn't say buy an AMD over that intel because intel suck, and its a waste of money blah blah blah. All I said is that I don't know much about intel and that I'm enjoying my AMD. All you want is this thread to turn into an AMD VS. INTEL death match.

Yes I just bought my raptor right now. A have 30% of ultimate downloaded so I'll have everything up and running tonight. And you'll will be the first to know how I feel about it.
 
Yeah sorry I didn't get vista installed last night, had some other stuff to do. I bought the raptor, and my new GPU is coming ups today. So I'm waiting to put it all together, the gpu, hdd, vista ultimate, and ill put in my last gig of ram also. So tonight i will deffinately be able to tell you how it runs.

I'm just like you, I just built my new system and I'm interested in how Vista will run. So since I'm going it I'll just tell you my experience. I'm just a few weeks ahead of you in the game thats all. lol.
 
i have built 7 computers, this will be number 8, but this is the first one that will be mine, i have built them with my dad where he just told me what to do, and i have built them for friends, but not for myself yet
 
O okay. Yeah, also on your hdd id recommend getting a 150gb raptor, especially if you play games. and then get a second drive to hold all your other information ie movies music, documents.

but tonight ill have everything done.
